When based on an event-driven IT infrastructure, an EIP (enterprise information portal) is uniquely enabled to deliver active, personalized content. The basic publish/subscribe and subject-based addressing capabilities of the event-driven IT infrastructure allow EIP users to select and receive exactly the information desired, in much the same way as employees inside the event-driven enterprise receive information. In addition, the same types of management facilities are available to control which people can access which types of content and services.
